Trash, Recycling, Hazardous Waste

Trash is collected on Tuesday and Friday.
Recycling is collected on Tuesday.
Hazardous Waste is not collected.  It must be taken to a proper facility.  See bottom of this page.

You may place your trash and recycling (only Tuesday) on the curb the evening before.  In fact, that's a good idea as the collection crews come around pretty early in the morning.  Please don't put your trash out too early the day before, it's an eyesore.  Evening is good.  Similarly, bring in your trash cans and recycle bins no later than the evening of collection day.

What can I recycle?

YELLOW BIN : PAPER PRODUCTS
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines and Catalogs
  • Unwanted Mail (you should shred mail with sensitive personal information on it)
  • School and Office Papers
  • Phone Books
  • Paper Bags
  • All Cardboard Boxes -  Boxes must be flattened and cut to 3 foot by 3 foot maximum.
  • Shredded Paper - Place in a brown paper grocery bag and secure the top.  No plastic bags please!

Do not put flattened boxes into an unflattened box on the curb.  The recycling crew will not pick it up.  Flattened boxes may be bound with tape or string, but not placed and held in an unflattened box.
BLUE BIN : NON-PAPER PRODUCTS
  • Plastic Containers #1 thru #7
  • Aluminum and Steel Cans
  • Drink Boxes
  • Milk and Juice Cartons
  • Glass Bottles and Jars

Aluminum Foil and Pie Plates:  Do not put these in the recycle bins.  Put them in your regular trash.  The processing mills for the Solid Waste Authority no longer accepts them for recycling.  These items will now likely be processed at the Renewable Energy Facility.
