Architectural Review

Planning changes to your outside property?  You'll need architectural approval for most modifications.  Use this guide to help you.

Examples of modifications that may not require approval:

• Addition or replacement of minor plantings, such as small plants or flowers placed into an already-established flower bed
• Replacement only (not adding) of larger dead bushes with like or substantially similar bushes
• Repairs to your home that restore the appearance to the identical state prior to the damage or decay necessitating the repair, such as replacing rotten wood

• Repainting such repairs with the identical color and shade

Examples of modifications that do require approval:

• Addition, removal, or replacement of any tree
• Addition or removal (not simple replacement) of larger bushes
• Installation of a flower or planting bed
• Installation of lawn features such as a stone encircled area with features inside such as water, ornamental, rocks, and other decorative items
• Installation of pavers and walkways
• Installation of larger decorative items such as a park bench
• Anything that affects the landscaping company mowing patterns
• Painting your house with a color or shade different than its current color or shade
• Widening of driveway
• Any addition, removal, or modification whatsoever to the exterior structure of your house or any ancillary structure such as a screened patio that is visible from any other property or common area
